What's going on

A couple of weeks ago I started to make an One Block Wonder. I had seen some very beautiful on Facebook and decided to use Philip Jacobs Brassica in gray. But I must admit it's no hit. I've just put some of the blocks on my design wall but they are very dull and the hexagons are boring to make. I've decided to make all blocks even though I'm tempted to stop now and let it be for a crib.  I'll be lucky when the quilt is finished. One Block Wonder Perhaps the reason is that I've picked out some fabrics for a Shimmering quilt? I Think the colors are great! Another shimmering quilt? My first one is ready, longarm quilted by Kerstin Andersson Sybutiken Pastellen , binded and labelled. "Shimmer"

Shimmer

This might not be an art quilt but I want to show my finished top inspired by Jenny Bowker's quilt . I started in the beginninig of November last year before her pattern was available to buy and I can tell you I had a hard time to understand how to make the top as there is no regular block. Later I bought her pattern and it's very easy to follow her instructions and there is a faster way to sew all the halfsquare triangels which I made one by one. Cropped, 64" x 80" in total The top is now at my friend's as I have asked her to do the longarm quilting. Later I'll make another smaller one following Jenny's pattern. All the printed fabrics are Kaffe Fassett Collective and the rest from my handdyed stash. It's Friday and I'll link to Off the Wall Friday, hope you will take your time to visit Nina Marie's blog.

Vårbäck

I've been finishing some art quilts as there will be a local exhibition in our library starting tomorrow. Three of my quilts will be exhibited. Then  during the Easter I'll have about ten art quilts in another exhibition Konst på väg . Six of the ladies in my art quilt group, Konstkvilt , will get together and show some of our quilts. This is an annual local exhibition and usually there are many visitors. I've just mounted "Vårbäck" (Eng. Small Spring Stream) for this exhibition. It's made from handdyed fabrics, discharged, stamped and finally hand- and machine-quilted. "Vårbäck", 12" x 12"  I'll link this to Off the Wall Friday , hope you will take your time to visit the blog.
